Long before it was a name, it was a practice.
Passed hand to hand on a handloom in Varanasi, through generations who measured a day's work in threads, not units. The weaving itself hasn't changed much — the loom still sets the pace, the weaver still makes a hundred small decisions per hour that never show up in a spec sheet.
What changed is who's designing with it. We didn't want to leave that lineage behind to build something contemporary. So we didn't.
